Development of New Jersey 2025 Strategic Highway Safety Plan Begins

December 2024

On behalf of the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), we are excited to announce that work has begun on the New Jersey 2025 Strategic Highway Safety Plan (NJ 2025 SHSP)!

The SHSP is a statewide, data-driven, coordinated safety plan that provides a comprehensive framework for reducing fatalities and serious injuries on all public roads. The SHSP is developed in consultation with federal, state, local and private safety stakeholders.

The NJ 2025 SHSP will update the goals, emphasis areas, and strategies and build upon the work completed as part of the NJ 2020 SHSP to move New Jersey towards zero deaths and serious injuries on all public roads. This critical initiative reflects New Jersey’s commitment to enhancing roadway safety for all road users.
